Energy Psychology
Simple techniques that help your body release stress you’ve been carrying.
Maybe you understand why you feel the way you do, but the feeling itself won’t budge: the knot in your chest, the panic that rises, the urge that takes over.
Energy psychology is a family of mind-body approaches that pair focused attention on a difficult feeling or memory with tapping or holding specific points on the body, many of them acupuncture points. The best known is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often called tapping.
Many people find it calms the stress response quickly, and it’s a tool you can learn to use on your own between sessions.

“Why won’t this feeling go away?”
Because some distress lives in the body, beyond the reach of reasoning.
Energy psychology may help if you notice:
Stress or anxiety that spikes quickly
Emotions that feel stuck in your body
Cravings, urges, or reactions that feel automatic
Distress tied to specific memories
Wanting a tool you can use on your own
Talking about it hasn’t shifted how you feel
Sometimes the body needs a different way in.
HOW ENERGY PSYCHOLOGY WORKS
Calming the body while you hold what’s hard.
In a typical session, you bring to mind something distressing and rate how intense it feels. While you stay with it, you tap on a sequence of points, mostly on the face, hands, and upper body, while repeating simple phrases that acknowledge the feeling.
Research suggests tapping may lower stress arousal and reduce the intensity of anxiety and traumatic stress, and studies on how it works are ongoing. Many people notice their distress drops within a single session.
Relief you can feel, and a skill you can keep.
